Focusing on a few tenths of a millimeter in diameter, the laser beam tool requires a precise yet flexible guiding machine to exploit the advantages of laser material processing for welding. Based on the requirements of the customer and our process development, we determine which system technology solves the given task economically and reliably.
While standard robotic systems are used for moderate demands on accuracy and speed, CNC-controlled systems are used for more demanding requirements. A highlight is the CNC laser welding robot. The combination of the high degrees of freedom and flexibility of an articulated or an carthesic robot with the performance of a CNC control leads to a precision system that is equally suitable for small lot sizes and serial numbers.
The integration of a 3D sensor guidance or seam following device reduces the programming effort and allows the automatic compensation of tolerances.
